Margrave's men and about a map.

A better image of the 1st Regiment of the Margrave's army.

Here's a better photo of the Margrave's men, taken in daylight. I had intended to post a copy of my blank hexagon-based campaign map too, but as it weighs in at over 2 Mb even in jpeg format I decided to spare my readers the hassle of downloading the brute.

Are those Spencer Smiths that I see?

I'm looking forward to seeing these lads on the table top. They look like brave fellows and I'm sure that they will give a good account of themselves when the action gets hot.

They are indeed Spencer Smith figures, and very nice they are too. I think they'll be finished by next weekend.

Just found your site and enjoyed reading about your hourney with the Spencer Smiths.

I wrestled with them for ages before I finally decided that the most important thing is deciding what to leave off them when painting.

Just do enough to suggest what they are they will look better for it. Only my opinion, but that and just apinting the shape and then tidying up with a blackline works for me.

Hi John, thanks for your visit and advice. Yes, I follow the same practise when it comes to painting Spencer Smith figures. The current batch are almost done, needing just the tidying-up and the blackline treatment.
