The Margravate of Dunkeldorf-Pfühl: 1st Line Brigade.

And so to the first of the nuts and bolts, plain vanilla units of the Dunkeldorf-Pfühl army: The 1st Line Brigade. Following the Austrian style uniform pattern, the line units are marked by the broad yellow band on their tricorns.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the moment I'm still undecided about unit figure strengths for the Dunkeldorf-Pfühl line regiments. I'd like to follow Austrian practise (again) and have large units of perhaps 48 figures. In which case I'll cut the number of line brigades to just two.
Aha!
Are you thinking about the proposed UK Big Battalions Game as proposed on the Old School Wargamers Group?
With large units you'd fit right in.
If you are not familiar, there's a proposal to have a UK Big Battalion Game similar to the ones Gallia and Hesse-Seewalt are having in the US.
By the way, the black uniforms with various facing colors look really good.
It would be nice to take part, but my commitments dictate otherwise. :(
Oh well, there's always next year...
"Following the Austrian style uniform pattern, the line units are marked by the broad yellow band on their tricorns.": meaning -I failed to notice it when 1 first saw them- that the Guards have a tricorn lace not in accordance with the metal of their button. Disappointed to have missed it, normally I'm a better observer...
Great uniforms -full of color despite the black coat: was certainly a challenge.
Now, by the way of challenges -I really would *not* mention it, since I proved on my own blog to be personally unable to present it properly for Monte-Cristo - what about the *state livery* of Hetzenberg and Dunkeldorf-Pfühl (as worn by the drummers / trumpeters of at least a few 'promoted' regiments)? Color of the coat (& its lining: cuffs..), livery lace & how it is placed...
On no webpage/ blog I saw it elsewhere than on painted minis...
Best regards,
Jean-Louis
Please design & post the uniforms for the 3 announced brigades, even if in the end you paint just 2!
